Ipod Software
iPod software is used for a brand of media players created by Apple, Inc. . The first of the iPods was launched in the year 2001. Since the first iPod, new versions have come out with additional features, and greater capabilities.
The Progression Of Ipod Media Players
The progression of iPod media players began with the first of the five original iPod models that were created. Each of these first iPods made increased in storage capabilities, and the features of these changed slightly over the years.
For instance, the first iPod model came with a scroll wheel, while the second iPod came with a touch-sensitive wheel. Likewise, the first players were 5 and 10GB, while the most recent of this line (2005) were created with a 20, 30, 40, and 60 GB hard drives.
The shape of the original model of iPod has varied slightly as well, with some being slimmer than others. This is true of the other iPod models as well, include the iPod Mini, the iPod Nano, and the iPod Shuffle (the most recent).
Earlier models of iPod players had FireWire connectivity, but the later models were made with USB connectivity.
Types Of Ipod Software
One type of iPod software that is used is the use of a tool that burns a large number of DVDs to iPod files in a very short time. Another type of iPod software is that which converts data from a PDA (Personal Data Assistant, a palm or handheld PC unit) file to an iPod file.
Other iPod software include downloadable music, gaming, and video files. This particular device can be turned into a miniature home entertainment center with the right programs and tools.
Other types of iPod software are those that “hack” or alter the functionality of the unit. For instance, some users have learned how to turn an iPod in to a universal remote, make it compatible with Linux operating systems, or ad an external hard drive to it to increase memory.
Another “hack” (alteration) of an iPod would be to enable it to be able to sync with a FireWire Connectivity. This is an operation that involves the use of a programming code or newly-developed software.
